VGA Matrix Switcher – Routes High Quality VGA Video and Audio

A VGA Matrix Switcher is designed to route high resolution computer video and stereo audio signals from many computers to multiple displays. These devices feature multiple inputs and multiple outputs, offering flexible routing of video and audio signals for complex installations. It ensures a sharp, stable image for improved signal compatibility with any LCD, DLP, plasma, or other digital display device.

These switchers are equipped with 15-pin HD connectors that are used for all computer-video input and output connections. These devices also use standard VGA cables, thus eliminating the need for external interfaces and coax cable connections via BNC connectors, making installations faster and easier. A Video Matrix Switch can distribute signals from a range of input sources to various output devices, creating a matrix pattern of connections. Switching operations between multiple outputs can be triggered through RS-232 serial control, via touch-of-a-button input and output selection directly from the front panel or with optional TCP/IP control. Video resolution of 1920×1200 is supported by these switchers.

The switching devices also features a built in signal booster which maintains flawless signal integrity. It is so designed that it provides maximum control while saving space and eliminating clutter and can be used as a standalone solution or can be rack mounted.

This Video Matrix works on simple plug and play functionality and a user can connect VGA and analog audio sources to the VGA Matrix’s inputs. The VGA and analog audio outputs are then connected to the VGA displays and audio devices. Once the power supply is plugged in, the device is ready to be used. Since it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination. It can be used with a wide variety of VGA sources such as computers, security cameras and DVRs.

The VGA Matrix Switcher is primarily used in places where information from many computers is being presented such as in Classrooms, Boardrooms, Conference and Training facilities, Control rooms, Entertainment facilities, Trade shows and Exhibitions.

Any Four Sources to Any Four Displays using HDMI 1.3 The 4×4 Matrix for HDMI 1.3 routes high definition at resolutions up to 1080p with multichannel digital audio from any four HDMI sources to any four displays. The 4×4 Matrix eliminates the need to disconnect and reconnect HDMI sources. It works with any HDMI source that connects to an HDMI display, supporting advanced digital audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio. This is a very good product. The Amazon description is poorly written, not telling clearly what the product does. Let this review serve as an alternate description.

What I wanted was a switcher-splitter that would allow me to imput my blue-ray player, satellite box and up to two other imputs, and route whatever I put in either to either my 1080p 47-inch monitor or my older 720p 28 inch. I like crisp images, hate blurs and accordingly get distracted abd annoyed by watching low-def content on my big monitor.

I also like to keep a tv-program, like a sport event, on, either muted or with low volume, while watching a movie, so that when something exciting begins to happen on the tv probram I can pause the movie and volume-up the tv program. This product does just what I wanted it to, which the Amazon description does not make clear. Any of the four HDMI inputs, labled 1,2,3 and 4, can be routed to either of the two HDMI outputs, labeled A and B, and the two outputs can simultaneously sport different inputs you select, just as I wanted.

There is also an optical cable audio output so that you can route the audio of whichever of the four inputs you select for HDMI output A to a home-theater amp. The sound still goes out output A. This is great.

There is one negative to this product. It is that the manual is in some language written in characters. I think it is Chinese. But you have to be pretty dumb not to be able to figure out how to work this product without a manual.

I like this unit because it’s small and it handled 1080P switching with ease. (unlike some other matrix switches I have owned)

I also like how it uses red LED for output A and green LED for output B.

HOWEVER one major problem is that it can’t send the same signal to both A and B outputs. In other words, if you want your HDMI source to display on two different televisions at the same time, you are out of luck.

I know it can be done, since I have another matrix switch that can handle it.
